Who we are
This is the website of Rope Cobra, operated by Rope Cobra & Shine On Innovations. You can reach us at info@ropecobra.com or by mail at Rope Cobra & Shine On Innovations, 17868 Highway 18, P.O. Box 94, Apple Valley, CA 92307.
This notice covers ropecobra.com. Our store, store.ropecobra.com, runs on Shopify and has its own privacy policy.
What we collect, and why
When you send us a message
The contact form asks for your name, email address and message. We use them to reply to you. The form sends them by email to a Rope Cobra mailbox; the website does not keep a copy in a database. We keep the messages we receive through the contact form and by email indefinitely.
When you sign up for updates
The sign-up form asks for your email address and, if you choose, your first and last name. The form sends them to Mailchimp, which manages our email list and sends the emails. Every email has an unsubscribe link. Mailchimp's own privacy statement explains how it handles the information.
Which companies visit
On ropecobra.com (not on our test site) we use a service from Albacross that matches a visitor's network address to the company that owns that address, so we can see which businesses visit and follow up with them. It is aimed at companies rather than individuals, but a network address can in some cases relate to a person.
Videos and pictures from other sites
The video on the home page plays through YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, and loads only when you press play. The preview picture for that video is fetched from YouTube's picture server when the home page loads, which tells YouTube (Google) your network address. All other pictures and the fonts are served from this website.
Light or dark display
If you use the light and dark toggle, we save your choice in a cookie named ropecobra-theme (one year) and in your browser's storage, so the site and the store show the same theme. It contains only the word light or dark. We set this cookie only when you press the toggle; if you never use it, our own pages set no cookie. The outside services described on this page (Mailchimp, YouTube and Albacross) may set cookies of their own when they run; their privacy statements explain what they do.
Server records
Our hosting company, hosting.com, keeps standard server records of requests to the site (network address, pages requested, browser type and time). We use them for security and to keep the site running. hosting.com keeps these records for one year.
Selling and sharing
We do not sell any customer or visitor information, ever.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from our emails with the link in any email.
- Ask us what personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it or delete it. Write to info@ropecobra.com or to the mailing address above. We will confirm that we received your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without them.
Children
The site is for working tradespeople and is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this notice
We will change this page when what the site collects changes, and update the date at the top.
